What does the PTO Do?

  • Organize fun, family oriented events such as Movie Nights, Picnics, Dances, Bingo Night etc.

  • Raise money to buy educational tools for the school that the school budget will not cover.  Currently, we are buying Document Cameras for each classroom (this camera is used to project the image of any object or document onto a screen for the entire class to see).

  • Provide educational/enriching programs and assemblies for the students (Guest Speakers, assemblies, parent-led mini-courses during the lunch hour etc)

  • Create the yearbook

  • Plan activities for the teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week

  • Coordinate Frost Spirit Wear

  • Complete the “PTO Registration Form” in this book and return it to your child’s teacher in August

 

Why should I volunteer?

  • To give back to the school

  • To directly impact the school and your child

  • To meet other parents and your children’s classmates

  • To keep this organization running

 

Where does the money raised go?

The money we raise goes back to the kids!  We have funded:

  • Document Cameras for the classrooms

  • Assemblies/Guest Speakers

  • Music and gym equipment

  • Buses for Field Trips

  • Pumpkins for each student for Halloween

  • The end of the year picnic

 

How can I get involved?

  • Come to a Monthly Meeting!!  They are typically held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm in the Teachers Lounge at Robert Frost.  Everyone is welcome including your children!

  • Volunteer at any of our events!  

  • Ask any PTO Board Member
